Some people think that Defragging is a simple task. It is.
First of all.

What is a "Defrag".
WELL.
A defrag is something that removes "Fragmented" files; "Fragmented" means that the file is in the wrong spot on the physical Hard Drive. This causes slow loading times.

Is it important?
DEFIANTLY.
Leaving your computer Hard-drives fragmented can seriously decrease the lifespan of your Hard-drive, and makes you computer run slower than a single brick among a brick wall.

What should I do?
DEFRAG.
If you have Windows; find the Windows Defrag tool in the start menu under system tools; or, for people who don't have XP, simply search for "defragmenter".
If you have a Mac; buy Windows.
Now you simply Defrag each hard-drive; but don't do it too often! It puts alot of stress on your Hard-drive and OVER-defragmenting can ALSO decrease the life span of your Hard-drive. Once a fortnight for casual users. Once a week for those glued to their computer chair.

Thanks!
BUT WAIT!
Windows Defrag is all very well and good; but their is other programs out there; that work even better! See my "PC maintenance" topic under the "Tech support" forum, and you will see "Defraggler". A fantastic program that allows for scheduling and file specific (instead of all of the hard-drive) defragmenting!
